There used to be a server-side mod on Warsaw Uprising with which there were only 3 flags and even if axis captured them all allies wouldn't bleed, and the tunnels were respawning, making it very hard for axis to win. As it is now tunnels don't respawn and axis can cause allies to bleed by holding 4 out of 5 flags, so axis can realistically win in two ways. I think chances of winning for both teams are somewhat balanced, so it is no longer "against the odds" (for axis) in that sense. But in another sense allies are fighting against the odds because the enemy has superior weapons, so I guess it is OK for the event.

Also of note is that on Arnhem allies can get pretty good odds of winning with a good play and many players.

A while back I had an idea for mountain maps and some people seemed to think that wasn't a bad idea, I can't remember if we used it or not though.

We did that a few months ago I believe.

What about an event about fictional battles?

    Like:
    Ramelle Neuville
    Aberdeen
    Desert Rose
    Valirisk
    Sector 318
    Desert Hill

Operation Aberdeen was a real battle (5th june 1942 Battle of Gazala). But I like the idea

    "Fictional Battles" - Good Idea!

There are more maps for events with that theme, for example:
    1. Battle over Hokkaido
    2. Operation Coronet
    3. Forgotten Jungle
    4. ?

329 Infantry had a reasonable idea for an event also, which was a "The Last Days" event, where the focus would be on the final battles of Japan and Germany.

@Ben: Lets keep that in mind for the week after. Next Sunday lets go with some fictional battles I would say.

The idea was not to do some alternate history maps, but fictional battles that actually could have taken place in the real war.
Like Valirisk, Sector and Desert Rose ^^
The Bridge on the river Kwai for example is based a movie.. like Ramelle.
Other fictional battles are Desert Hill, Reichsbahn, Hungary Forest and Operation A.

Of course we could spice that event up in the end with one map, where some really crazy fiction comes to life. Like:

    Alpenfestung
    Rattrap
    Wake Night
    Monster des Stahles
    Sand Storm
    Adak Island
    Ocean Town

Monster des Stahles makes the whole server lag badly when battleships get close. I don't think that it is realistic that we could prevent that.

Other than that the list is good. I think I like your first "fictional battles" list a little more.

    Okay what about:

    Ramelle Neuville
    Desert Rose
    Valirisk
    Sector 318
    Desert Hill
    Operation A
    Reichsbahn
    Hungary Forest

Mh, maybe these are too many maps. Maybe one Africa map should be enough; we should skip Desert Rose as it seems to be not very popular.

But that list offers much variety!

Yes, it was the inspiration of the whole event idea also, lol, so Berlin-1945 would have to be in the event.
