Historical Sound & Textures The famous improvement package with custom sound and textures, originally a compilation of Mr_Cheese's textures and GeRmAn~Bratwurst's sound pack for FH1 which has been adjusted for use with FHSW and equipped with completely new sounds by BigV.
Installation: unpack the zip file and move the FHSW and STFHSW folders to ...\Battlefield 1942\Mods\ , overwrite init.con

Did you just add the sounds folder in objects/stationary_weapons/MG15_air? Any other changes? (i couldn't find them) Also the same problem was reported with the MG17
btw. i already fixed the problem with stug_g_late textures on operation blackknight and liberation of caen: Download
just put the content into your Mods/STFHSW folder
However i do want that we merge all these fixes into a final ST0.51 fix, which will resolve all problems for users who downloaded the above S&T pack

Game crashed with battlefield.exe has a problem ...etc.
I downloaded it and compared the .rfa with the one i use in my STFHSW folder and with which i could join and play on the server. They are identical. I doubt that your crash has something to do with my fix (all i changed was one text line which says to use different textures)
hm, I tryed several times and did a restart and try again. The only way that worked was to switch to the original .rfa Gameserver admin on our FHSW Europ server

Im convinced that there is a bug either with the ragdoll death animations or real gun sounds, because ive been having nothing but crashes since i installed them, anyone else having issues with them?
EDIT: now im convinced theres something wrong with the universe, i have done like a dozen full reinstallations and i even left out s&t pack on my most recent one and every map i try to load either crashes bf or it just says i was disconnected from server.. its sad but if it keeps up i may stop trying to fix it..
i think you have placed some file in a wrong place. But you need to delete the bf1942 folder manually before reinstallation! the BF1942 deinstallation procedure won't remove files which aren't affilated with BF42/vanilla and the FHSW installer won't overwrite FHSW addons

It is an improvement on all menu and HUD textures, most are doubled in resolution and you'll notice the difference if you play in higher than 800x600 resolution or widescreen resolutions. All credits go to tuia and unexpectedpanda. I removed some icons that looked out of place (vanilla kit menu on the left e.q.)

ive been deleting fhsw and stfhsw from mods folder before reinstallation, should this be enough?
when you placed a fhsw addon file into the fh folder, then it's not enough. To be sure, delete the whole bf1942 folder. Then you can be sure to have a clean installation.
i thin i found my problem, one of the parts of my install was corrupt, i downloaded a fresh installationand the crashes have stopped, for now at least..
I managed to make 3d ironsights from FHE work in S&T pack and it works in multiplayer:
I think it could be a great addition to S&T pack and I will post an update to pack with availible weapons soon. But I can't get in contact with the developer of the mod to ask permission, since he was't active on forums since 2009.
For those who want to know, how 3d ironsights were made:

The way you make ironsights H, is to go into the Objects.con and locate the position of the soldiers camera inside the Soldier data .inc file thats in there.
You then write those coordinates down, and place a camera in 3ds Max at those coordinates. Note the coordinates from the game are not identical to those in 3ds Max because of the scale of the game. After you have the camera in place, wtih a 47 degree field of view, seeing what the soldier would see in-game. You proceed to line up the ironsights to the center of the camera.
This is best done by placing a cylinder at the exact location of the camera, parallel with the cameras point of view. If you do it correctly the cylinder will be placed in the center of the camera and will be a dot marking where your ironsights should line up to.
You then animate you weapon. In order to make ironsights work, you have to line them up before you do any animating, and then animate from that position, always returning the gun to that position at the end of the animation.
Then after you export all your animations, you go into the Objects.con of the weapon, and set the soldier zoom to 0/0/0, and its ironsights.
I managed to make 3d ironsights from FHE work in S&T pack and it works in multiplayer:

luck i guess. A custom animation could make the gun wobbling around while holding it unstable. But i don't have any knowledge(and tool) for creating animations.
Good job I tried to do that as well some time ago but some sights aren't really optimised for that, the MP40 looks good though.

That's a problem, it doesn't really work with the current super sensitive reticles. Maybe you could change this too in the S&T pack but that's definitely going too far gameplay-wise.

I think this is cool, makes it much more realistic, youd be surprised how long th delay can be.. the only thing is some noobs probably dont understand how sound actually works so they might think its mis timed, but im all for it!
EDIT: Perhaps its possible to find one or two weapons to intergrate it with(such as submachineguns like mp40s, stens, and thompsons) i think as these are close range weapons it may not make too much difference as there is a tendency to spray and pray anyway.
