Historical Sound & Textures The famous improvement package with custom sound and textures, originally a compilation of Mr_Cheese's textures and GeRmAn~Bratwurst's sound pack for FH1 which has been adjusted for use with FHSW and equipped with completely new sounds by BigV.
Installation: unpack the zip file and move the FHSW and STFHSW folders to ...\Battlefield 1942\Mods\ , overwrite init.con

Hi So I decided to give another try to replacing grenade sound. No success so far. Maybe I missed something. This is my procedure: 1. I opened grenade's objects.con (MillsGrenade for example) to find the name of the effect it triggers. So it appears like it uses e_ExplGranade effect. 2. e_ExplGranade is not present in FHSW's objects.rfa so I go to FH's. The Explgranade_*.ssc tells me that this effect calls for Handgranade.wav sound file, however it is missing in FH's sound.rfa. 3. The Handgranade.wav is present in BF42's archives, however this is vanilla sound, not FH nor FHSW

have you installed it correctly? -> move STFHSW folder in Mods folder and the init.con (FHSW) in FHSW folder, overwriting the existing one.

Everything should work fine cause I am able to load many other maps. But naichi still doesn't boot. And I also recognized that the whole game does not work 100% without crashes since I've installed the pack. I don't have that many crashes which make the game unplaylable, but more crashes than with standard FHSW :/ Capturing a flag which is set in a pushmap system always causes little lags you know. Sometimes it happens that these situations make the game to collapse.
I'm running FHSW + S & T pack + increased sound channels + high FPS lock + lightmap-mappack + bloom feature. Maybe I should try one of Stefan's FHSW crash solution methods to enhance the game's stability.

No that cannot be the reason. It has been crashed already before I made use of FPS lock. Can't figure out what problem i might have. I will try the S&T pack for some multiplayer games on the server but if I still got crashes maybe I should remove it. I don't care about the textures but the sounds are pretty nice though.
I've found out that the MG 15 has no fire sound. Some time ago Robert reported that but has there been an update on this? The Arado 196 is equipped with the MG 15 on the back seat. The fire sound is missing :/

Actually, eYe made a patch for it a couple of months ago and I thought I have reuploaded S&T pack with this patch included, but it seems I haven't (my bad). It was posted in former S&T thread, but this page seems to be deleted. And unfortunately, I haven't made a backup of the patch - maybe eYe could reupload it?
@mayer Do you have Google account? If so, I can give your editor's rights on GDrive in order to reupload S&T pack when neccesary, as I sometimes forgot or don't have time to do that. Also, could you remove torrent link, as nobody seemed to download through it all time I was seeding.

About S&T pack, only the Google Drive link, as I don't know how to reupload files on mega without changing link. Same with mediafire, I don't have access to it, as it was uploaded by Mayer. Everything else is up to date.
There is no need to download the whole S&T pack again. All you need to download is the updated objects.rfa (~4.5MB) to fix the MG 15 sound

Nope but I think a update of S&T makes only sense when everything got fixed or a new FHSW version was released, and in my opinion moddb and gamefront are better sites to host this on.

Can someone please help me with this sound texture pack. All I get is bf crashes on most of the maps and very laggy performance. I have reinstalled windows(pirate) fresh several times and the problem persists.

Guys i found a youtube channel with videos of many ww2 weapons being fired, it has decent sound quality, perhaps someone could use it in future for any S&T updates. There is some nice sounds for mg 42 , m1919, vickers, bren, thompson, as well as the type 98 jap mg
Just thought I'd let everyone know that on Kharkov Winter the Silenced PPSH41 in the barn in Soviet Base sounds like a MG, lol! Its very funny but not very accurate. It makes me feel like Rambo and his M60. Btw, can we have announcements when updates are done to these patches and add ons? Its very hard for me to keep up with all that occurs and develops without some kind of announcement and I get a patch or version behind everybody, lol. Thanks
EDIT: Just wanted to let you guys know that the Naichi map loading glitch isn't just on that Xen's computer, also on mine. I took every precaution and followed directions to the letter, so I know that its not our fault because of this problem. So please look into this and/or help me and him to get it working if we did something wrong, thanks. EDIT AGAIN: Sorry about this but as of my further looking into the problem I have discovered that I can play Naichi on FHSW Europe server with relative stability, but when I try to run it locally or on create my own internet game it will crash or be very unstable. Btw, I don't know if this is just something on Naichi or on all maps but I've discovered that when you have a kit that has a rotating smoke grenade ( i.e. you either get smoke grenade or a hand that gives orders) it will always appear that you have a smoke grenade even when you don't. fyi...
