| Hi,
question is in the thread title, what makes FHSW special compared to other games/mods, why do you still play a 10 year old game? Let's collect some thoughts.
For me it's the well balanced gameplay between realism and arcade, it's not overly complicated like you don't need 5 people to operate a tank. Still it's also not too simplified, e. g. the aiming at moving objects requires quite some skill because of the somewhat realistic ballistics (and ping ).
My second most favorite point of this mod is the enormous amount of vehicles, I don't know of any other (shooter) mod that offers about 600 different tanks, ships, planes and stationary weapons. There's also no other game that has naval, tank, plane and infantry combat potentially on one map.

| For me it's the BF1942 style graphics. And the amount of realism, which it's still balanced. FH "vanilllaaaaz" has froze in time while fhSW is still improving the gameplay, not just the vehicles.

| I would say the large selection of maps, vehicles, nations, and styles of play. By comparison, modern games are put to shame for a lack of general content.

| What? The special stuff with the amazing effects. That make it good! Using weapons, tanks etc wich never or not much used in combat. Using weapons, tanks etc wich you never or not much can find in a game! There are standard weapons wich games use. Like the tanks: Sherman, Tiger, Panzer 4, T-34... Weapons: BAR, M1 garand, Mp40, Stg44, Mauser,.... All those weapons can you find in each game. But an Jagdtass? 128mm Flak?

| i would say the bf42 game engine which is very elastic and allows creating almost everything. This is even possible without a coding knowledge.

| For myself it´s the dazzling array of units and weapons that can be used and of course that some of them are VERY unique and special. Theres is at example the Nahverteigungswaffe in the german late Panzers, that is so amazing to have that!!! Or the places in the Jagdtiger with cupola and u can give spotted enemy units from there with an arrow that show in that direction! Damn fantastic!!! Personally I wish more german special planes like the HE162 Salamander the DO335 Pfeil or perhaps the Heinkel Lerche (Lark)
