| I like xenanab's idea, only i don't think gazala is fhsw. nice Homage to 1942 the original game.
ben, we did an event like that recently "Axis Advance" of early 1939-1940 japanese and german maps, id say put that idea off since we did that about 2 months ago and it didn't really go well.

As for the Xenanab's idea for a tribute to the original game I like it, but, I'm pretty sure that Gazala is an FHSW map.
I also think I have a name for this event "The Game that Started It All" or maybe "A Tribute to the Veterans of Battlefield 1942"
If we do end up doing this event I really think we should include Gazala and Market Garden. Market Garden introduced a lot of what went into the FH mod about mobile spawn points and setup of bases. So I propose keeping Gazala and replacing Liberation of Caen with Market Garden. I don't consider LoC an original since it was added on for multiplayer purposes. Hope this gives you some ideas.

| Wait. I think we talk about Vanilla maps, which have been converted to FHSW.
So Market Garden cannot be played 'cause it was never brought to FHSW 
For me Caen counts as a vanilla map as EA/Dice have created it for the normal BF1942.
The idea behind this event is to play these - in my opinion - awesome maps because they aren't played that much on the server (except El Ala).
Ohh, I've forgotten Tobruk and Invasion of the Phillippines 
And yes, Gazala is in ^^

I thought Market Garden was in FHSW because it's in FH too. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time. 
As for Tobruk and Invasion of the Philippines, let's say that we know for sure that Market Garden isn't in FHSW. I think the maps that we absolutely need are:
Wake
Iwo Jima
Midway
Gazala
Guadalcanal(possibly)
Invasion of the Philippines might be a nice touch also, as would Tobruk, LoC, and possibly Berlin or Stalingrad(Berlin and Stalingrad are practically non-existent on our server). Also, have you considered making this a two day event? That would mean we could erase the problem we have with choosing what maps we want to play and ranking the maps on what ones we think are the best. I don't think we should include the vanilla maps that we play a lot of (El Al, Kharkov, a little bit of Battle of the Bulge). I also have another title we could call the event: " The Maps that Started It All"

By the way, I thought I'd announce this just in case some of you didn't hear about it.
The last four remaining raiders of the Doolittle Raid are getting together one last time in public somewhere in the Midwest of the United States. They will drink from their Goblets the 1896 year Cognac (Look it up!:)) and toast the other seventy-six that have died over the years.
