Bf42 is my favorite game, i started to play it in 2002, i stop played it many years because newer games arrived. When FH came out that was a second life for bf, but FHSW was a second game, and my favorite game. Maybe it may seem old, FHSW still young due to the historical work of the community for me FHSW is a virtual museum. The gamer community is the best, everyone knows each other, and we spend a good time, i think the community make the beauty of this game. But it's also its weakness, no more new players, only players online at fixed hours ( i like that, " meet and play" ). If i understood rent a server cost 60 euros per month, 720 euros per years... And the server is used only between 6 pm until 12 pm mainly during weekend, so i wonder if we couldn't make our self servers, like RADIOSMERSH. And with other members that could be easy to manage ( like 6 pm until 10 pm in the week and 5 pm until 12 pm in the weekend / and allocate who must host this day or this part of week + an alternate /just an example/ ). I just ask...

BF42 ist mein Lieblingsspiel, begann ich im Jahr 2002 Play, Stop spielte ich es viele Jahre, weil neuere Spiele angekommen. Wenn FH kam heraus, dass ein zweites Leben für bf, aber FHSW war ein zweites Spiel, und mein Lieblingsspiel. Vielleicht ist es aufgrund der historischen Arbeit der Gemeinschaft für mich FHSW ist ein virtuelles Museum scheinen mag alt, FHSW noch jung. Die Gamer-Community ist die beste, jeder jeden kennt, und wir verbringen eine gute Zeit, ich denke, dass die Gemeinschaft die Schönheit des Spiels. Aber es ist auch seine Schwäche, nicht mehr neue Spieler, nur Spieler online zu festen Zeiten (Ich mag das ", treffen und spielen"). Wenn ich verstanden Einen Server mieten kostet 60 Euro pro Monat 720 Euro pro Jahr ... Und der Server ist nur zwischen 6 Uhr bis 12.00 Uhr vor allem am Wochenende genutzt, so frage ich mich, ob wir uns selbst Servern wie RADIOSMERSH machen. Und mit anderen Mitgliedern, die einfach zu verwalten sein könnte (wie 6.00 bis 10 Uhr abends in der Woche und 5 Uhr bis 12.00 Uhr in das Wochenende / und ordnen, die an diesem Tag Gastgeber muss oder diesen Teil der Woche + einer alternativen / nur ein Beispiel / ). Ich habe gerade fragen ...

| The problem with servers hosted from personal computers is that they are not reliable, the CPU and RAM must be capable and internet upload and download speeds must be decent. Considering that this is an old game many modern computers achieve this easily, but again they are still unreliable. If we follow your suggestion, there could be minor inconsistencies with server settings and capability.
While 60 Euros might seem like a lot, it is quite standard for a decent box. There are often contracts that can last up to an entire year, and the monthly costs remain the same even if the server is down like it is now.

Our server definitely is not "decent" anymore. It runs an old athlon x2 4600+
I just think that Stefan should pass the server ownership to someone else, as he is not able anymore to provide the necessary support nor any kind of feedback on server blackouts etc.

That the server is down because no-one donated also is only just a guess... The truth is: we do not know for sure what is going on at the moment.
What we need to run a server is just about 10-12 people who are willing to pay an ok amount of money like 5 € or so.
This is a gaming community. People come here to relax. If you start an argument you will get kicked.

| Death, this is what I have been saying for a long time, if you look back in the forums but who knows which thread, I have said that we aren't very informed of the situation and how we can help improve it. Now that being said I know that I'm not the one dealing with owning the server let alone running it but I would still be appreciative of knowing at least some basics of what's going on. Also, for those who didn't already know, I would be donating but after doing some checking some years ago, for me it would defeat the purpose of donating after all of the conversion costs I'd have to go through to do so.

| hello all, Stephan paid, alone, a lot of money for years. Some players never did that. I think should be good to know the total amount and then each players makes a donation to reach the total. I can donate 10 euros per month ( or all in once for an year, for example 10€X 12 months= 120€ ), but other players should say how many euros can donate. We don't need big donations, instead we need a continuing money incoming. Few euros but each month.
I will start with my annual donation next month, I can send 120 € for my annual subscription.

What kind of server hosting company is this? If they are unable to provide a stable server for a ten year old game I think it's time to switch. Most of us probably also remember that not too long ago it basically crashed every Sunday and I doubt this was FHSW's fault because it didn't seem to happen on the Japanese server.

The company that rents our game server appears to be a property of Stefan's family member, so I guess Stefan won't go on switching option for obvious reason, unless someone else purchase a hosting service from different provider, but then the IP will be changed what's not prefered actually.
