Yeah, and also smoke screens for cruisers, markers for torpedoes on minimap and skybox with moving clouds.

Unknown ship looks almost like a British corvette, but no. Some kind of patrol/escort ship though, certainly not going into the open ocean though.

I like that sea plane.
Reminds me of all the sea planes in this great movie:

Cool map with many interesting new ships and effects. I also like the fact that they have created a couple of new L1 LOD models and don't re-use old ones. This should reduce fps lag a bit for which naval maps are known for while still looking good. Being able to see torpedos on the minimap is also a good addition.

But I also saw some room for improvement:
  • please use fog of war to make the view distance transition smoother because it looks really bad when ships (and the clouds) suddenly appear on the horizon.
  • I absolutely love the sky box but there has to be a better way to connect the top with the sides, the transition seems very rough. Looks like it could be fixed with Photoshop.
  • The white tracer smoke for shells looks really weird after a certain distance. It's related to the fact that the orientation of projectiles doesn't follow gravity and they always stay in the position they leave the barrel. I would probably set a time which terminates the effect after ~1 second.

Edit: Oh and one more thing:
  • There seems to be a trend going on with giving planes unlimited ammo on big maps. I understand that it's a bit boring to fly back to rearm on such a big map but imo it adds depth to the gameplay when you're forced to use the carriers. Because then you have two choices:
    1. Park them on the border of the map where they are hard to hit but it takes longer for your planes to rearm and find the enemy.
    2. Use them offensively and you might lose the carrier faster but your planes can constantly bomb the enemy team.
Because of this the opposing team might want to target the carriers first because they have such a big impact on the game.

Some people including me really like to play tactical like this. With unlimited ammo this part is gone or at least greatly reduced.

I think that having unlimited ammo completely ruins the purpose of FHSW, which is to make the game more realistic. I mean I would even go to the extent of limiting naval ammo and AT gun ammo, but that just my opinion.

Yeah it's from "Porco Rosso" a movie which takes place after WWI in Italy.
The drawer of that anime Hayao Miyazaki is known for beeing totally obsessed by old aircrafts.

And yes, in my opinion it's a great movie :P

Going to be too overpowered if you ask me, it will be near impossible for any enemy planes to attack a ship with those rockets. Some are already on ships like Hood I believe, one time I believe had destroyed more than 30 bombers in a round with them.

Light Tank Mk VII Tetrarch (by Nanntekottai):

    From FHSWman's Twitter:

    Comet tank turret:

15 cm sFH18 from BG42, though FHSWman hasn't yet decided whether to use it or not (if I understood right):

Battle of Leyte Gulf Day 2 ver. 1.0 was released.

A few changes I have noticed so far:

    New water normalmap texture:

    FM-2 Wildcat:

And I was confused with Frank's revolver model: that is M1917 model, not Colt.

I wonder what they traded for the gun. From previous trades I know they only trade objects of the same category, e. g. M26 Pershing for M18 Hellcat and F1M2 "Pete" for Beaufort.

I really like the water texture. He's putting a lot of custom stuff on that map, anyone knows the exact ships used in Leyte? Seems like he's going for a very historical recreation of that battle regarding the vehicle layout.

ningen has finished the texture for his Curtiss SB2C Helldiver.
